Why do people seem to be so fixed on the thought that Santa makes all of his deliveries on just one night?

What if, instead of traveling in just one night, he actually travels for the entire year, and using a mix of science and magic squeezes all of that traveling to exist solely in one night?

Heck, while we’re at it who says he has to be traveling in the year before Christmas? He could be pushing it to the previous year. He could have bought all of your toys at sale prices and them jumped back in time to give it to you.

All I’m saying is that when I become an Aunt, I’m telling my little nieces and nephews that Santa travels all year long and then magically pushes all of that time together to happen in a single night. I’ll make sure they don’t believe any of those other silly explanations of him traveling in just one night.
